About ALSI
ALSI's roots go deep into both language services and IT industry.
The parent company of ALSI was founded in 1985 under a different name by John B. Ratliff III, a language training professional and retired Associate Dean of the U.S. Department of State's Foreign Service Institute. In September, 2007 Advanced Language Systems International, Inc. (ALSI) was registered in Maryland as a C corporation.
Backed by 24 years of experience and professional personnel, our staff continues to provide the same high-quality service under the ALSI, Inc. name, using the same proven processes and diverse resources that gained us the reputation of outstanding language service provider. Translation, interpreting, transcription (foreign language audio files into English language text files and vice versa), language training, cultural immersion, remote training, English as a Second Language (ESL) courses, and language testing are a sampling of language services ALSI provides. Our database includes over 6000 language professionals specializing in more than 200 languages and regional dialects.
ALSI serves numerous federal government agencies, including different branches of the Department of Justice such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Bureau of Prisons; the DHS; the Census Bureau of US Department of Commerce; and the IRS, to name a few.
In 2005 ALSI acquired Prime Task, Inc., a software and systems engineering company that worked closely with ALSI on several advanced technologies for linguistic processing. Created in 1999, Prime Task had IT projects in US and overseas. After the merger, Prime Task became the technology division of ALSI.
